Discover Itsy Bitsy Preschool

Dual Immersion Preschool Experience

We believe that play is a child’s work and that learning occurs during developmentally appropriate child-centered activities.  Children learn concepts best when they are meaningful and relevant to them. We offer a Spanish immersion environment in which children feel welcomed, loved, and respected as they build appreciation and cultural awareness for each other.

Our goal is to help children develop a lifelong love for learning, and becoming bilingual.  Your child does not need to have any previous experience in Spanish as the focus is on learning through activities like games, music, and play time.

Studies have shown that there are many benefits to the exposure of a second language in early childhood education.  Bilingual children have demonstrated increased problem solving abilities, better working memory and improved capacity for abstract thinking, among other benefits.

We would love to have you join our wonderful Itsy Bitsy Family!

Bilingual Picture Book

This book gives children a fun perspective on hand-washing! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a spotlight has been put on hygienic methods to reduce the risk of infection. Explaining the importance of hand-washing to prevent the spread of pathogenic microorganisms can be a tough thing to accomplish with young children. This book takes away the complicated wording and frightening ideas surrounding our current situation to instead give them a story that is engaging and presents a logical method to stay healthy: wash your hands. And to make things even better, it is bilingual!

The joys and struggles of parenting

My favorite journey!

us.jpg

Welcome!

I can't wait to share my thoughts with you!

New website!  I am super excited because my goals are different from when I had the first Itsy Bitsy webpage.  The first website was designed to help families find my program.  In other words, it was up for the only purpose of advertising!

Then FB came along and advertising was FREE!  Who doesn’t like FREE!?  Specially, after you learn that frugality is the name of the game.  It took a long time for me to realized that it was OK to make cuts in many areas in order to survive the economic recession of 2008. FB was fun for a while, but I recently realized that not everyone gets to see my updates.  This page was very economical and I decided that it is worth having a website again.  I will still use FB, but will also try to share more useful information on here.  In some cases, I will also share some of the insecurities that I had and have as a parent.  This is going to get personal, but may help many of my new families understand that we all have the same parenting insecurities.

I do want to apologize if my writing gets a little confusing at times.  I have learned a lot about myself in the last few years and one thing is that I need to accept that my writing is good enough to share meaningful information.  Being bilingual is an amazing skill!  I always say that I am lucky to have the ability to communicate with twice as many people compared to people that only speak one language.  The downside is that I don’t feel 100% fluent in Spanish or English!  In Mexico we have a saying, "Ni de aqui, ni de all".  I am not going to transalate.  I will leave it up to you to figure it out, haha.

I look forward to share with you my thoughts, my joys, struggles, and successes.  This parenting journey is the most fulfilling, adventurous, loving, fun, stressful, beautiful, and tiring job we will ever have.  My children are 27, 24, and 16 and I still describe it the same way!  But most importantly, I still LOVE it and thank GOD for giving me the opportunity to parent such beautiful children!

My advice for today is to remember that as long as you LOVE those little souls, they will grow up to love you back!
